According to Beck, McKeown and Kulcan (2002), teaching 400 tier two words in any given school year will improve students’ comprehension. This workshop will give teachers many ideas and suggestions for teaching tier 2 words to K-3 students explicitly, while conducting interactive read alouds and as a part of writing instruction.
Bring a book for New Books for New Homes and be entered to win a prize. Stay after the meeting to help sort books for this project.
